I used to think I understood weddings. I had spent four years in event management, behind the scenes of so many beautiful days, certain I knew how they came together.
Then I planned my own. And I learned that a wedding is not a checklist at all. It is your mother crying during the vidaai. It is the song that makes the whole room rise. I felt all of it, and I understood for the first time how much a couple carries in those days, and how badly they deserve to simply be present for it.
